Lots of note taking this week.
Venessa gave us a great lecture on perspective, a lot of it was a refresher for me but always nice to remember the basics. I also have never looked at perspective from an animation stand point before. I’m used the perspective needing to be absolutely perfect. But for things like storyboards and drawing frames quickly we need to get good at guessing. So although the essentials are good and working with perspective lines is great practice and for long shots. We can’t spend all our time on it.
We also had a fun day of basic storytelling breaking down character archetypes. I originally wrote my dissertation on Jung psychology and the basics of fairytales, so again this was a little bit of a refresher for me, but again a really welcome one. Really made me think of what I want to aim for in my own work and how I want to structure my own stories.
